Excited by the potential of translational medicine in improving patient outcomes, I investigated targeted drug delivery systems to minimize adjacent tissue harm. Using this knowledge, I developed proposals to improve orthopedic body integration to improve patient outcomes. Collaborating with a spine surgeon and electrophysiologist, I created tools to enhance intraoperative neuro-monitoring. Witnessing the potential of improving clinical outcomes deepened my understanding of research as a vehicle for informed patient care. I have been fortunate to continue this learning as a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Translational Medical Research and Public Health.
